Bemis Farms Preschool and Child Care Center is currently seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our team. Our center is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our center continues to operate smoothly and that our children receive the care and education they need.
Job Title: Substitute Teacher at Bemis Farms Preschool and Childcare
Salary: $12.00 - $15.00 (split shift to be paid more)
Hours: Varies depending on the need
Responsibilities:
- Follow lesson plans and classroom routines set by the lead teacher.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities promoting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Supervise children both indoors and outdoors to ensure their safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children.
- Assist with mealtimes, diaper changes, and other daily routines as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, empathy, and a love for working with young children.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.

Compensation: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Bemis Farms was established in 1994 on 18 acres of farmland in Saline, Michigan. The grounds are filled with gardens and many trees – and the local farmer plants and grow a rotating crop of corn and soybeans. We encourage an outdoor learning environment (OLE) where kids can be more involved and get hands-on experience with nature.
